Of all the scores you love, which TYPE of score do you like best.
Some suggestions:
Action
Adventure
Romantic
Comedy
Dramatic
Scary
Suspensful (there is a difference)
Thriller
Symphonic
Pop
Rock
Modernistic
Surrealistic
Abstract
etc.I myself have to think about this one, but I tend to lean towards large, symphonic scores ala Williams, Korngold, Herrmann, Wagner etc.

I like 'em all. What I listen to a lot depends on my mood. But I would probably say that Adventure/fantasy and Action are my most common to listen too. Then Horror.[This message has been edited by SEBULBA (edited 12-10-99).]

Anything bizzare... I tend to lean towards science fiction/fantasy for thatNausicaa - Joe Hisaishi (soundtrack suite, I think... I have this in MP3 and I am not sure which version of the soundtrack this is. I'll order the CD later... MP3 compression hollows out orchestra)

My view on this subject is the same as my view toward movies... there isn't really one style I like the most, I instead like whatever I think is well-done.Okay, now that I think about it, that's partly a lie.
Actually, I'm a hopeless romantic. Anything beautiful that makes me feel either warm and fuzzy or sad and desparate is really high on my list.

Anything highly instrumental of epic proportions, a-la John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, and Hans Zimmer.Anything deeply dramatic with a discernible degree of comedy, a-la Thomas Newman and Danny Elfman.
Anything engulfingly romantic, a-la John Barry, James Horner, and (yes) Mike Figgis.
Anything disproportionately scary and disturbing, but equally well-structured, a-la Bernard Herrmann and Elliott Goldenthal.
Basically...anything goes.
