I was just wondering what blockbuster movies are coming out next summer. Have the coveted slots (Memorial Day weekend, July 4th), been filled yet?The only blockbuster movie I have heard of so far is Mission Impossible 2. Have any other big-budget films been slotted yet?

X MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although it has apparently been delayed from May to sometime in July now.Minority Report. Spielberg's next, is coming in the summer next year, I believe it is a July 4th title.
Dinosaurs, Disney's CG EPIC is also due out in the Summer of 2000.

X-Men is due on June 30!Red Planet June 16 - The second of two Mars movies for 2000, I'm not sure if this one is post-apocalyptic or if its something about the more near future. Stars Val Kilmer.
The Patriot June 30 - American Revolution film. Directed by Roland Emmerich, starring Mel Gibson, music by David Arnold.
What Lies Beneath June 28 - Robert Zemeckis film. Stars Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer, something about ghosts and a murder. Music, of course, by Alan Silvestri.
The Perfect Storm June - Wolfgang Petersen film about a doomed ship at sea. More doomed-boat music by Horner.
Titan A.E. July 21 - Animated Don Bluth movie!! Post-apocalyptic space adventure.
The Hollow Man July 28 - Kevin Bacon becomes invisible. Directed by Paul Berhoven. Music by Jerry Goldsmith
.By the way, Dinosaur is due on May 19.

Unfortunately, MINORITY REPORT will NOT be coming out next summer. Speilburg just recently received a revised script which he just signed off on. Now the studio has to aaprove it. It will go before the lenses sometime in Jan. or Feb. So, possibly a very late summer, but I doubt it, based on the script I've seen. I know about this movie, because the co. I work for is working on it when it starts.

Re: Minority ReportThat's interesting. Unlikely Jan/Fb though because Spielberg and Tom Hanks will be spending most of their time here in the UK shooting 'Brothers in Arms' (Pvt Ryan spin off mini-series) which is gonna take an AGE!
Only thing I could imagine would be he shoot Minority Report here as well so he can jump between the two projects over early/summer 2000.

Perhaps we should all just call up Steven and advise him on how he should approach his upcoming projects, I mean... he doesn't have any experience working on multiple projects. Heck, what makes you think he's capable at all?Being

Minority Report...That is kinda interesting. We're being told (my company), that Speilberg is not shooting anything else until Minority Report is either green lit or passed. And that once greenlit, will start in Jan. or Feb. here in the States.

Well they begin beuilding 13 sets, each one the size of the Romel one from Pvt Ryan, about 20 miles from where I live around Feb for the mini-series. This is gonna take time, but shooting is going to happen in the new year.Hmmmmm, darn it, $pielberg, give me answers!

Since Miramax/Disney is releasing Miyazaki's films to the US, expect stuff from him.So far, they released "The Princess Mononoke". The next release is "Laputa: The Castle in the Sky", a film Miyazaki did in the mid-80's. Joe Hisaishi's score is being re-recorded for it. No release date that I know of, though.
It's renamed to "Castle in the Sky" because "La Puta" in spanish translates to, I think, "the pussy"
