Does anyone know if the score for Sleepy Hollow is any good? I was thinking about getting it but I wasn't sure.

Cinema:
You have no idea what you have done. Allow me to be the first in a very, very long list of people to recommend this score. SFT will not be on the list, because the poor bastard lives in Denmark and hasn't seen the movie yet.
Welcome to Moviemusic. Get the CD. I doubt anyone will have anything bad to say about it.

Shrug, the movie was mediocre and the score was forgettable(bare in mind that it was good, but Elfman has produced far better). if you dont have Edward Scissorhands yet, get that instead. Otherwise... it isnt a waste of money.

I really liked the movie. I thought it was a good comeback for Burton from Mars Attacks. I recommend it to anyone. The score was pretty good. I agree it wasn't Elfman's best, but it was worth the money I paid. The headless horseman's theme is really neat. There is great chase music, a romantic theme, and everything else. I would have to give it...

I just came back from the theatre... yay, that was great! If there's a Best Lighting category for the Oscars, it better win dammit! The music flowed nicely with the film... these dark fantasy films are the kind that Elfman was born to do. The music itself was generically Elfman. Your not missing anything revolutionary by not buying the score. It worked well with the film, but I don't know how good it would sound without it 'flowing' with the movie. Many great scores suffer when they 'stand alone' without the movie (Dark City, Con Air, The Matrix, etc.)...

Okay now,
first of all I didn't realize cinema was a new addition. Cinema I apologize from the bottom of my heart. Welcome.Crono...I could complain that when I entered this realm of oddities and information I was never welcomed, and that I was one of the first to welcome anyone new (although I haven't been here that long to know for sure), but why? I love you guys, and the very few gals.
By the way, why AREN'T more of the female gender on this board?I need a coke (that is coka-cola, for those of you whose mind wonder in wrong directions)

How did "Sleepy Hollow" lead to "we need more chicks?" Talk about way off base.Of course, we really DO need more women around here.

Sleepy Hollow (movie and score) was awesome! It's excellent. Elfman's best since Edward Scissorhands. Now, let me reflect upon the new subject which this has lead to. Let me quote a few of you...

Touche James. That's pretty good.As far as "Sleepy Hollow" goes, I'm going to post and then close my connection to avoid the massive onslaught that's sure to follow.
The score was good. Vintage Elfman. But the movie wasn't that great. The acting was atrocious, and the plot was just plain dumb. I'm going to have to read the book now, to see what they did to it.

Dude, shut up James, dont try and play high and mighty here...we all know you are in the gutter with the rest of us.
oh, and while i do not dispute any people's opinions on the score-like i said it is good, but not his best-i do dispute the movie. Mars Attacks was better, in fact Sleepy Hollow is Burton's worst film. talk about f*cking boring, the teaser to M:I2 kept my interest far more than Sleepy did.
Burton(and Elfman)rules, but Sleepy Hollow certainly does not, biggest dissapointment of the year-at least TPM had a good duel in it.

Ok, as long as we're expressing friendly opinions...I think there is too much trying to "out-do" each other, in general manner, attitude--on this board, though it exists everywhere.
I doubt that the displayed chauvanism, albeit playful, constitutes the lack of expressed female opinion and presence on this board. it happens to be lacking everywhere.
i believe that those who are intolerant of such "chauvanism" would do well to set an example for others by not participating it, and ignoring it--but not by chastizing others for it. (unless, of course, it is the intent to *advertise* the fact that your own values are supposedly greater than those "crude" others....)
it is my observation that most of us are, most likely, single males. sure, we'd all like to impress females with our knowledge of film music--because we're all enamored of this art form and feel so passionately about it. wouldn't it be great to express it with members of the opposite sex, as well? i would hope so....
i do appreciate that those with girlfriends, wives, and daughters might even be offended at the "slang" terminology, though we are aware of its' commonality. but again, i think it's probably best to provide example, and not persecution.
However, it my opinion that there is a distinct need to *not* be competitive, arrogant, or hostile on this board (or any other). Ultimately, it's about the love of the film music artform, and we should all be able to appreciate it without offending anyone, male or female. It should be more a inviting area to visit.
