Does anyone know anything at all about this Soundtrack? I've seen a trailer to the movie, which looks good, so now I'm really curious about any tidbits anyone happens to know about the soundtrack. If you know anything post it!! *s*Steph
P.S: Has anyone heard the soundtrack to The Messenger?

This film recently opened the London Film Festival. Meant to be very good stuff, shame I couldn't get into London that night.

Hey Guys,Just had a great talk with Mychael Danna (very cool guy) about all the scores he has coming up (Felicia's Journey - which is out now, Girl, Interrupted, and Ride with the Devil).
Mychael let me know that Devil will be the closest thing to a big romantic orchestral score that he has ever done. There are tons of banjos and other Southern sounding instruments and it's quite expansive. The album is still being produced and will be on Atlantic Records November 23rd. And again, there will be one song by Jewel on the album.
Our interview with Mychael will not be online until after the score comes out on November 26th so hopefully I will have a review soon.

I managed to see the film at the London Film Festival and really enjoyed the movie and the score. I bought the soundtrack yesterday (it was released here this week) and can highly recommend it. It was orchestrated by Nicholas Dodd (works with David Arnold) and it is technically excellent. The main theme is very lush, epic stuff and there are numerous thunderous action pieces and loads of subtle melodies.posted 11-12-1999 08:03 AM PT (US) Old Infopop Software by UBB
