Hello everybody. Its me with yet another question:

Are there any good emotional scores out there? I'm probably gonna be made fun of, but I really need a good cry right about now in my life. Parts of Glory, Titanic and The Thin Red Line do the trick, but can you guys suggest some others?

    Thank you all.

I guess I'm down because of schoolwork. I'm so stressed that its hard to get a good night's rest. I figure if I release some emotion inside, that I can continue to do my best in school.

I'm okay, really. No personal problems, just personal stress. Thank you so much for your concern: You've made my day I'm feeling much better. Now.. time for some triumphant music!

I just need to say one more thing: I don't need any more sad music. I'm feeling great now, honestly, and I suppose that I only needed to vent. Nothing that a good night's rest can't take care of.

So to change the topic, are there any triumphant scores out there?

    Allan

Schindler's List, incredible, heartfelt, and emotional score. Edward Scissorhands(Elfman's best score IMHO) is also very good.

I was recently really sad too. Movie music really helped me to express my emotions and handle my grief. Interesting that you should post a topic like that because I was thinking of doing the same thing. I listened to a variety of gentle pieces of music (like Good Morning Princess from Life is Beautiful) as well as sweeping pieces like Hymn To The Fallen from Saving Private Ryan. Other good scores for melancholy moments include Forrest Gump, Little Women and The Lion King.

It was a family member's death I was coping with, so some of my music choices helped to reflect that I was still living and needed to carry on. These included things like The Presdient's Speech from Independence Day and Star Trek First Contact's main theme. Really anything from the Star Trek family will be pretty triumphant and life-affirming.

I hope this helps. I know you said that you weren't sad anymore, but I wanted to give my favorites for future therapeutic benefit.

    Mary

I guess since this topic has been here I have been in a bad place in my life as well. But I usually listen to up beat action music when I feel like this. Somthing to get the blood pumping and forget my bad mood. I listen to The Peacemaker or Raiders of the Lost Ark or well anything that I can drive really really fast to

    Here it goes,
    Superman (will make you sore)
Star Wars/End Theme (will make you feel like a king)
Jurassic Park/The park theme (will make you stand up straight)
First Knight (will treat you like royalty)
Rudy//final cue (will make you go out and run)
Hoosers/last track (will make you wanna play basketball)
ET/Adventures on Earth-first part(will make you go out and buy a bike)

...need more? You know where you can find me.

PS. Batman and the rocketeer are great too.
