I saw posted that Varese was doing a CD of Bernard Herrmann's music for the show, but no details. So, i took it upon myself to contact them. Here's what to expect...

    Fellas and dames!

I know this is old news, but aside from being a fantastic set that everyone who loves Herrmann's music should have, is this OOP?

I ask because some poor suckers are bidding up to $51 bucks for it on ebay today....just wondering.

Continuing to terrorize the msg board,
    Sean

    There's one born every minute....

BTW, this is a truly wonderful recording. I have a few quibbles with "The Lonely," but this is a set every Herrmann or Sci Fi fan should have.

The wife and I rented a few volumes of this most excellent show yesterday for the weekend....started off last night by watching LIVING DOLL.

There is an EXCELLENT rundown of the Herrmann episodes, and comparisons between the McNeely/Herrmann readings of the scores over at......let me see if I remember the link here.... http://www.filmmusic.cjb.net

Anyway, after watching Living Doll, and remembering Bill's rundown from the above site, it's true...McNeely takes Living Doll way too slow, but I'm grateful to have it on disc. This set is indispensable, one I have gotten tons of mileage out of....so it just surprised me it was going for such a big amount. Guess I have to get another copy too

A superb album... showcasing how brilliantly Herrmann worked with smaller ensembles.

This album is certainly not out of print. I was just in a store buying blank videotapes and I turned around and realized I was standing in front of the film music section. Staring me in the face was this album. I thought it funny that only a few hours later I would sign on and see this thread right here, resurrected.
