Here's the scene. You're parked at a red light listening to one of your more reflective soundtracks like October Sky, or Islands In the Stream, when a guy pulls alongside and is blasting his Rap (BOOOMMMM, Boom, BOOOMMMM!) or metal and cranks it up even more while glaring contemptuously over at you. This guy is gunning for a battle royale and you need some serious film music firepower to anwser his challenge... it's gonna be WAR! WAR! WAR!

So what do you pull out of your arsenal? Here's my plan of attack.

Having The 13th Warrior handy I put on "The Fire Dragon", max out the bass and blow him away or...

Grab my copy of Hook, scan forward to the fireworks part of "The Ultimate War" and watch him sweat, or...

Take out Total Recall, dial up "End of a Dream", and crank it up to 8, or...

Call on Air Force One, go to "The Highjacking" and watch him go down in flames...

That's what I would do... for starters.

....definately put on "Firestorm" from ID4. That will blow him out of his car...

Or maybe "The Fight" from "The 7th Voyage of Sibad".

Or how about just towards the end of "Zoom B" from Mission: Impossible.

In any case there is plenty of REALLY LOUD filmmusic for the purpous.

Hey...what kind of a topic is this anyway!

NP: Edward Scissorhands, Danny Elfman ******/***** (you´re not seeing things, I DID give it a 6 out of 5).

What a great topic....very very original....but somthing that I think we have all faced at one time or anther. I think some tracks from either Drop Zone or The Peacemaker have the potential for some great loud music. There are some good tracks on the Kundun CD as well. All of that Tibetian chanting music is deep.

NP: The Mummy....followd by The 13th Warrior.

Reminds me of that funky Circuit City commercial....

Anyway, anything from The Rock with ultra bass should do it. Actually, The Rock, Face/Off, Con Air, or practically any Hans Zimmer action score shoud do the job. But hey, make sure the cops aren't nearby and these rap mastas don't have something hidden behind the back seats....watch yourself....having driven through pretty bad neighborhoods with film music on isn't exactly welcoming for these residents. Very sad.

You could always blast the main title from "Star Wars."
Or if you want to bring in the element of war, you could fast forward to the loud part of the march from "Patton."

I'm surprised noone's brought up Duel of the Fates yet! I'd go with that, possibly some of the action cues from Aliens, Ghost and the Darkness, and Predator 2. Battle of Fort Wagner from Glory.

As good as "Duel of the Fates" is it takes it a while before the power kicks in. By that time the other guy has blasted you into the next century. I like "The Fire Dragon" because it starts big and never lets up. A take- no-prisoners power cue.

I always get a speed-adrenaline rush whenever I listen to track 3, "Secondary Protocol / I Will Make 800 Feet" on disc 2 of the Armageddon 2-disc set.

It's awesome!!! Night time driving for me becomes dangerous when I have that on, seriously... and if it puts me into that kind of mind set, I'm sure it would do wonders in a racing environment.

First track of the Omen will scare the hell out of any rap crazy.
Fast forward to the "dogs" track and his a goner for sure.
Parts of Alien or even Poltergeist will blow any rap to never, never land.
If you really want to scare him, put in Monsignor and play Gloria and he will see angels.
    So much for that.

This actually occurred with me not a week ago. I happened to be listening to Carmina Burana at just the right moment...
