I wasn't pleased with the way I expressed my opinions in this message, so I deleted it completely. Sorry for directing you here.

Hey,
I though they did a good job on "Tarzan." It was better then most of there other Disney movies in years past. The last time I remeber liking any Disney movie was back in 1994 with "The Lion King."

Shazbot! I was actually intrested in reading that disney post. Anyway, the next Disney thing to look out for is "The Princess Mononoke", a japanese animated film being released by Miramax (a.k.a. Disney).

I have yet to see Tarzan though. When Disney produces an animated film, it either tends to be brilliant (Lion King, Alladin, etc) or horribly irritating (Pocahontas, Hercules, etc.)

I have no problem with Tarzan. In fact, I love Tarzan! It was incredible. My original post was about all the millions of great scores they haven't released. Once I can state my opinions a bit more mildly, I'll repost my message.

I have no intentions of seeing that movie. I think that the idea of Phil Collins writing songs for a film in the jungle is pretty absurd. When I saw the trailer for the film, with Tarzan swinging from tree to tree in the depths of the wild jungle, and then I heard Phil Collins music burst in, I wanted to hit myself in the head. This doesn't mean that I think Mancina's music is bad or inappropriate. I admire Mancina's work, but... Phil Collins?? Oh whatever. I'd rather see Iron Giant. I hear there is no musical numbers, just Kamen.

Al:

I had the same reservations about Tarzan, but Collins' music works extremely well in the movie. I was intensely stunned with how amazing this movie was. The best Disney animated feature since.... well, ever. Don't let how bad the trailers look or how you feel about Phil Collins prevent you from seeing what is IMO the best film of the year so far! (Yes, I liked it better than The Matrix, better than The Mummy, better than, dare I blaspheme, The Phantom Menace.)

James

P.S. I cried... twice.

P.P.S. I've revised my original post and re-posted it.
