After this message you will see what I read at FILM.COM.
Joe Johnston will be directing this picture and if things run by trends here, with the exception of October Sky, then James Horner will be the composer of this film. He worked previously with Johnston on Jumanji, The Rocketeer, The Pagemaster, and Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.I'm pretty sure Williams will not compose music for this film... becuase as with other sequels, exception of Jaws 2, if the original director is not directing the sequel then Williams will not compose the music.
Let's just hope that Horner uses Williams themes but as part of his original score and not a clone of Williams Jurassic Park and Lost World scores. He did a good job with Mighty Joe Young and if he uses that style for the third installment of Jurassic Park we might be pleasantly surprised.
And now here is the article from FILM.COM

If we hear about one more big-studio sequel of a film that was tiresome the first time, we just may lose control of ourselves and spew Diet Coke all over Film.com's palatial offices. Regardless, it is our job to pass on the Hollywood news, and the big headline today at Daily Variety is that Jumanji director Joe Johnston has been signed to direct - ta da! -- Jurassic Park 3. Universal Pictures and Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment have teamed up to produce this third installment, with a story by Spielberg and a script currently being written by Craig Rosenberg. Although Spielberg had indicated last year that he would possibly direct the film, he'll be too wrapped up in the Tom Cruise Fox/DreamWorks vehicle Minority Report starting this October, and Universal/Amblin are hoping to get the dino flick under way by early 2000. (Just in case anyone's wondering why on earth the world needs Jurassic Park 3, here's why: The previous two films earned more than $1.5 billion in combined worldwide box office revenue.) No casting details have been set; however, we suspect a phone is ringing over at Jeff Goldblum's house. Don't pick up, Jeff . . .
