I just caught the making of DEEP BLUE SEA on HBO,and they interviewed Rabin and played his music on and off during the special. They also showed the recording of the score, and on this score Rabin is utilizing a full orchestra. From what I heard of the music,it sounded really good.It sounded like a really action packed orchestral score. And now i'm not just looking forward to the film, which I might add looks really cool. But now i'm anticipating the score alot and can't wait until the score is released.
Did you know DBS is getting a score release in late August? Watch out for the "Companion (Song) Album" with appears the Tuesday following the films release.
Anyway, question: I notice you were playing Runaway when you posted your message. Do you have an original, and how/where did you get it? I've managed to obtain only a CD-R copy.
All I have is a CD-R of "Runaway" as well.I would love to get my hands on an original copy though. It is just so expensive if you can find a copy. For some reason I just really enjoy Goldsmith's corny 80's synth scores like "Runaway" and "Extreme Prejudice".So if I found a copy of the original for a decent price I probably would buy it.And yes,I did know that Varese is releasing the score to DBS in August.I hope we get a decent amount of the music. But knowing Varese i'm sure it's 30-35 mins.
