A music store is having some kind of a cheap sale: Buy 1 Get 1 Free. I've browsed through and there are a few scores. They are:1. Dave (James Newton Howard)
2. Dennis the Menace (Jerry Goldsmith)
3. To Die For (Danny Elfman)
4. Escape from L.A. (John Carpenter)Which two should I get?

Another music store will be having their anniversary sale and I've narrowed down a few scores to get:
1. Sleeping with the Enemy (Goldsmith)
2. Entrapment (Christopher Young)
3. Crimson Tide (Hans Zimmer)
4. Batman (Elfman)
5. Batman Returns (Elfman)
6. Edward Scissorhands (Elfman)posted 07-22-1999 06:35 AM PT (US)

Will,I would definitely get Dave, it is a beautiful score. I don't know much about the other three.

I recommend Dave and Escape From L.A. Dave has a main theme that is absolute magic- and Escape From L.A. is just the kind of music a badass would have.By the way, if you come across a copy of the Pelican Brief, let me know.

I'd also recommend Dave, and for any film music fan Batman, Edward Scihsorhands, are must haves!
You might also want to keep an eye out for Waterworld and Land Before Time, these two scores are usually found in bargin bins at about $8, well woth it.

"Dave" is a must get.I've heard "To Die For," and it's okay, it's just typical Elfman. Personally, I'd pass on it.
I don't know much about the others though.
As to the other six listed, all of them are really good. If you can afford all six, go for it.

Dennis the Menace is definitely a find - it's out of print, so I'd grab that. You'll definitely enjoy this score if you are fond of his "Great Train Robbery" score.Sleeping with the Enemy is also nice - great theme. Definitely go for the Gold... errr, Goldsmith.

Jeron,Just wanted to say how nice it is to know I'm not the only die-hard Goldsmith fan on this site!

Will,
Definitely get Entrapment! It's too good a score to pass up. And looking at Catherine Zeta-Jones in every picture doesn't hurt, either.

Jeron and Widescreen,Just wanted to say you two are not the only die-hard Goldsmith fans on here.I am a total Goldsmith fanatic.I own no less than 60 of his scores. It is nice to see that some people out there appreciate his music as much as I do.
Dave,Dennis the Menace and Escape from L.A. are all good picks. As for the others you listed, they are all really good scores. Although if I had to choose between Batman and Batman Returns,I would definately go for Batman. It is much better in my opinion.[This message has been edited by Matthew (edited 07-23-99).]
