Even though I have not seen the film yet, I have herd that Kubrick's final film was one of his best. Thank you to everyone (if you are out there) that worked on the film. And thank you Stanley, for daring us to enter your world of light and sound. And thank you for making some of the greatest movies in motion picture history.--Crono/Kyp

I guess it depends on who you talk to. I've heard some people say that it's one of his worst. That's not to say that it's BAD, but they're saying is it's not as good as some of his other work.

This is one of those unusual events where I go to see a movie like Kubricks that is engaging and not complete escapist fare on the opening night. I liked it, I thought it was comparable to a nourishing meal- only we're talking mental nourishment out of a movie- and this is rare in a summer, though increasingly less with this film and last (with Saving Private Ryan). All I have toi say is- you don't know until you get there, and even then, it takes some thinking after to sort it through- but it is memorable, and didn't take effects or advertising to make it good. Just a really long time and good acting.
