    Please help me out here.

I've read several posts on numerous topics where people ask if a promo CD is available for one score or another. Could someone please explain what a promo cd is? And how can one go about getting one for any particular score?

    Thanks.

A promo CD is one that is (usually) put out by the composer of the movie score. It's intended for a limited distribution to a select few and for reviewers.

Many times you can find them available for purchase. Screen Archives is one of the places that I have found them at.

Intrada also has a big selection of promos.

Promos are usually send to record companies, record producers, and the academy. Then they end up in stores that sell used CDs and distributor/seller like Intrada. Usually it quite expensive and almost always used (don't let the rewraping fool you).
