I thought we could start a post where everyone can list any and all DVD movies that they know of that have isolated score on them. I know I am always interested in knowing which DVD movies have the complete score isolated on them, or at least more score than is on the CD release. I will start with the only one that I can think of right now, BLADE.

    Tomorrow Never Dies (YEAH BABY)
Patch Adams (playable as an alternate soundtrack in the documentary)
    Apollo 13 (on the menu)
Field of Dreams (as an alternate soundtrack on the documentary)
    City of Angels

All the above come to my mind, as well as the ones Brett mentions...

Also, not a DVD, but laserdisc. ET has an isolated score (collectors ed box set).

Don't have the DVD yet, but I hear Quest For Camelot has Doyle's score isolated.

Question: Has anyone tried burning a CD copy or MiniDisc copy from a DVD with the isolated score? I tried it with LA Confidential and my CD recorder won't recognize the digital signal.

    Ethan-

I created a PERFECT expanded score cd from the Tomorrow Never Dies (Special Edition) DVD. I had no problems at all - love every minute of it.

    Jeron,

I did the same with TND, most cool, but curse that damn dropout when the chopper goes "BOOOM!".

I am planning to try LA Con soon. No idea if it causes troubles, it;s encoded in 5.1 digital surround (yeah, the score is! sweetness! ) so maybe this is why CDR and MD players do not recognise the signal? Like I said anyways, I will be trying it out myself soon.

Just wondering, how exactly do you rip an isolated DVD score? Do you need any special equipment, besides a CDR to burn it? What format does it rip into?

(in response to Captain Howdy's question)

If your Personal Computer has DVD capability and a soundcard that allows you to record its own sound, you can just play the film and record it into WAV (wave) format. From there, you can compress it into an MP3 or copy it to a CDR and etc. I was able to copy the Dark City end credits music and the theme to C.U.B.E. that way.

We can now add The Dark Crystal to this thread, which is great news for the many people who've been hunting for this score for years.
