Well, it looks like Trevor Jones's score to "Cleopatra" has already obtained the status of Collectors Item. For those of us who picked it up (including me), good job. I talked to my friend who works at the Wherehouse and he said that when they went to re-order another copy of the CD, the manufacturer said the CD was already out of print!!! Now I know that there were VERY few of these CD's printed, maybe one here and there, scattered around. The only places I knew of having a copy were Tower Records and Wherehouse. Theres a copy right now on eBay with 5 bids on it currently at $50.00. Yes, you heard me right....$50.00. Someone told me that it went last week on another auction site for $30 or so, so its quickly rising in value. Pick it up while you still can! I just saw a copy at one of the Wherehouses in my area yesterday. Just thought I'd inform you all of this.NP: Cliffhanger (Jones) ****/5

That's kind of silly... why would it already be out of print? If this *is* true, is the score good? Trevor Jones hasn't failed me yet. Who's actually heard it?Jeron
PS- Just by looking a around quite a bit, I've found several online music stores that have plenty of copies on hand.

I only have 2 Trevor Jones soundtracks currently "The Dark Crystal" and "Cliffhanger" and I think they're both excellent. Could anyone recommend any other soundtracks by him please so I can buy some more of his music. Thanks. Gae, his score to Merlin is a must have! As well as Last Of The Mohicans, and Dark City.

I went to my local record store a couple of weeks ago to order Cleopatra but he said he couldn't find it anywhere. Today I went in to pick up another cd and he surprised me when he handed me the soundtrack to Cleopatra. I was very excited that he got a hold of it. Not only that, but the cd I went in to pick up, the expanded soundtrack to Rambo 2, he had gotten in a promo and he let me have it for free. So I got two soundtracks for the price of one. I really love that record store. 90% of the time he was able to find an out of print cd for me.Jasom-np: October Sky

I can't believe people are having a hard time finding this score. All of the half-a-dozen music stores that I frequent all have at least one copy. The store I bought it from has four copies. Maybe scores are not as popular in Boulder, Colorado.Audacity

Here's the review I submitted to Amazon.com:Trevor Jones does it again! Get this one while you can!
It seems that with Trevor Jones, you just can't go wrong. Once again, he pulls through with another winner: Cleopatra. Pulling for thematic elements that can be found in both Merlin and Last of the Mohicans, Trevor Jones has composed a refreshing, new score that will captivate your ears and spark your imagination. The first track, "Cleopatra" introduces the theme immediately, while also giving you a preview of the score's overall attitude. A rich, almost relaxing rhythm is developed, complimenting the score while creating a nice foundation where Jones' trademark style will inevitably take form. Whether you are a Trevor Jones fan or simply a film score fan looking for some good music - don't miss Cleopatra. Only a limited number of copies are available (or so I hear).
