    Jerry Goldsmith: THE 13th WARRIOR

    Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Based on Michael Crichton's best-selling novel Eaters of the Dead, Touchstone Pictures' The 13th Warrior is an exciting and unforgettable adventure thriller from director John McTiernan. When an important emissary (Antonio Banderas) is abducted by a band of warriors, he is forced to join their quest to battle mysterious creatures legendary for consuming every living thing in their path.

The 13th Warrior features Jerry Goldsmith in epic adventure mode. A huge symphony orchestra is further enhanced by the forces of a massive choir. An epic score … a grand work … a new masterpiece from the legendary composer. CD features nearly an hour of music!

I just hope it is really released, because the film has been on the shelf for more than a year.It has been reshot numerous times, and director John McTiernan was thrown off the project.Plus there are still talks of it not even being released in the U.S.,and it going straight to video. That's how bad the film is supposed to be.But i'm sure since Varese is commited to releasing it ,they will and that all I care about.I just want to hear the score. It's just too bad that we'll have to wait until August to hear it.

I think it will be released in the theatres... I saw a rather promising trailer for it when I went to go see The Mummy. I'm just impressed with Varese for saying it will release a score (a Jerry Goldmith score at that) w/ nearly an hour of music. I know it hasn't happened yet and that we shouldn't get our hopes up (still), but hey - let's give them a hand! [applause]

I'm all for another Goldsmith score. I'm still waiting on my copy of The Mummy (what I heard in the movie I really 'dug',) I'm actually looking more forward to The Haunting. Goldsmith and Horror hasn't a been a frquent synonymous situation of late.

The 13th Warrior is going to rank with the Mummy as an example of Goldsmith making the most of the end of the decade. He started strong, he's going to finish strong.
