Varese has scheduled release of the score cd for July 20th. Just thought I'd share.

Ooh! 30 minutes of Bernstein! Too bad it's not from another company. The score deserves a full CD.

That's a bit cruel. Varese MIGHT release just thirty minutes, but it's not a certainty. They can put out more music when they want to. E.g.: Psycho, Merlin, Noah's Ark, Shadows of the Empire, Superman (which was originally going to be one CD), Portrait of Terror,....

And Varese isn't the only record company that releases soundtracks that are too short... Epic Soundtrax, ironically, seldom passes the 40 minutes mark. Goldsmith's First Knight, for example, had a lot of music that didn't get released.

Of course, there's a very strong chance that it WILL be only half an hour, but I'm just trying to say that one shouldn't assume that it will surely be 30 minutes. Either that, or I'm in a bad mood. Either way, I'm far off topic so I shall cease my argument presently.

Sorry if you thought I was being harsh. It was meant as sarcasm, because that is the way Varese usually handles scores, especially when they're done in the US.

It's only when they can do something outside the US do they avaiod the usage (and other) fees and can put out a long CD.

"The 13th Warrior" Goldsmith will be on Varese - but nearly one hour long. Probably it wasn't recorded in the US.

Just an update. There will be a separate song cd released before the movie. And the Will Smith video was released yesterday, and contains segments of score as well as Wild Wild West rap
