I don't remember the name of the song or the band who made it, but I remember hearing that it was on the import version of The 5th Element soundtrack. It is not on the regular 5th Element soundtrack CD.

The techno-Arabian music is from a musician, Khaled, who is usally found in the World Music section of your local Borders bookstore...I couldn't tell you what CD it's on, but do as I do and Check the End Credits.

I think it is track 6, called Akta.

Im unsure of the singing but I know that music is in the chase. You can here it pretty good when the cops crash into the Mc Donalds train.

I don't think it was "Akta"... I think Akta was the scene where Leelu was trying to form the words, "please help" and the accordion music & drum beat playing. I could be wrong though. The arabian pop music playing in the film is NOT in the american version of the 5th Element Soundtrack, but may be on the import version of the 5th Element Soundtrack.

Yea, your right... I just watched that part and Akta is when she is asking for help. The chase music is definately not on the domestic soundtrack release.

Here, I found some info on this song... I took this info from http://home1.swipnet.se/~w-12454/fe/fifthmusic.htm -

    -Snip-

    Alech Taadi...
A song that unfortunately wasn't on the soundtrack is the "cab chase" song. Once again, Jason has provided me with info...
The song is called Alech Taadi (originally 4min9sec long), and is featured on Khaled's album "N'ssi N'ssi" (Mango Records, 1993).

Here are the lyrics, translated to English...
I'm going mad from her changing moods
From emptimess and blame for times gone by
The past is gone, what's done is done
And joy is still there for the taking
You are in my blood, my secret heart...
Trust in God, have faith, and let's begin again
