woah..you put ANYTHING above Schindler's List?? silly.

I wont rank them, but your choices seem good, in a slightly different order below Schindler's List, except for Lost World..that was a dissapointing score, Id put Amistad in instead

    Hector,

I agree, I think Jurassic is better than Schindler's. I like action scores though so that is probably why I like it better than some of Williams' slow scores. I would put Seven Years In Tibet second though, I really love that score.

I would have to agree with Matt that Schindler is indeed Williams` best score of the 90`s, if not ever. Seven Years is excellent too as is Amistad. All the adventure scores are good though not as good as the former. And the most dissapointing score would have to be Saving Private Ryan.

I dont have many of William's scores from the 90's only "Schindler's List" "Jurassic Park" "The Lost World" and "Hook".For me his best music was from the mid 70's to the late 80's(although I'm probably showing my age here!!!) Just look at the list of "classic scores" he composed Jaws, Jaws II , Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi,Superman,Raiders of the Lost Ark,Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Close Encounters of the Third Kind,E.T.,The Witches of Eastwick,Empire of the Sun...these rate amongst my favourite William's score.

I'd have to agree with Gae. I don't care for much of Williams music from the 90's. I like his older stuff. If I had to choose one though, I'd choose Jurassic Park. I just haven't been too impressed with his latest works. Go figure.

Eeeeeeek, tought one. Although he is a damn good composer, Gae and LesterMoos I think are right in saying that the 90s has not been the finest decade to single out the best of Williams' work.

I still have my faves that he's done in the 90s though. Schindlers List, Far and Away, Jurassic Park, Amistad and JFK.
Of course there is also The Phantom Menace, hehehe, c'mon now you know it makes sense, yes, none have heard it yet, but it's gonna be a winner baby! Sorry, got carried away there....

Im also tempted to agree with Gae and Lestermoos, as Williams' body of work has not been as consistantly good as in previous decades. However, his finest piece has come from this decade, which is of course Schindler's List, and I have high hopes for TPM. the 70s and 80s may have been good decades, but 1993 was his best year(Jurassic Park and Schindler's List)

Jurassic Park and Hook are my picks for best score of the 90's. Schindler's List is some very serious music and is a little hard to listen to if you have not seen the movie like me.
All that talk that John is losing ground commercially and talent wise to Horner and Goldsmith maybe put to rest. That is if Star Wars: TPM fares as well
(or better!) with film music fans as did Star Wars: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

    Let's make this easy...

Every score John Williams wrote in the 1990s is my favorite. Not one of them is bad, not one of them stands out necessarily more than others.

This is not an attempt to end the thread. I just find it impossible to list my favorites and not take up lots of room on the site by listing them all!

Arghh! I forgot FAR AND AWAY, which I must add to my list of 90's favorites.

Overall, I think the 90's were certainly a dramatic highpoint for Williams, however, it also ushered in a scoring style in which each cue was not as self-contained as those scores from the 70's and 80's. The cues blend together more as an organic whole, in the method of how Goldsmith organizes his scores.
