Just bought "The Thin Red Line" on the basis that it was by Zimmer and as I haven't seen the movie I was suprised to hear how quiet it was for Zimmer. After an initial feeling of dissapointment have to say that after several hearings its getting to sound like a really moving and emotional soundtrack with several nice themes. Anyone who knows the score well I'd appreciate any feedback. The only other Zimmer scores that I have are "The Peacemaker" and "Crimson Tide". It's nice to see how diverse a composer he is as regards TTRL. Gae NP TTRL

Thin red line is indeed a great score by Zimmer, the best score of last year. It`s too bad that it lost to Life is beautiful.
You have to give it several trys before fully appreaciting it.
If you want something similar try House of the spirits.
Or Hans` greatest ever Beyond Rangoon

The Thin Red Line is Zimmer's best. It's the only score I have bought without seeing the movie. i bought it because of the 5 second clip on Dr Toons from "Journey to the Line," and let me say that the whole track is brilliant.
Its a shame it lost, but no surprise, considering the same thing happened with Braveheart and Il Postino.
