This score showcases Mark Snow's two greatest scoring abilities. He is a master of atmospheric, genuinely creepy suspense music. But he also writes some of the most hauntingly beautiful melodies, often for piano and strings. His talents are on full display in this new X-Files score. Proof again that much of his music for that TV series (just 1 score disc), and his music for Smallville (nothing yet) is criminally unavailable on CD.
