TimT's review
of this soundtrack CD:
by TimT on 1/12/2003 favorite track: 10 Perhaps Blanchard's best score yet! The main theme is repetitive but still great for what it is. The score is performed by a decent sized orchestra in London, along with a small jazz ensemble, Piano, Guitar, Arabic Vocals, Bagpipes, and of course Blanchard's trumpet. It may sound like an odd mix (Arab voices with bagpipes?), but it works! A majority of the score is of the same pace and tone heard in his score for Clockers, but executed a little better. Unfortunetly there is only one primary theme, and it's heard in almost every track. At least there is something always new brought in as the score progresses, whether is a new variation on the theme, or a new instrument to keep things fresh. see all reviews, or add a review
