John Zimmer's review
of this soundtrack CD:
by John Zimmer on 11/4/2001 favorite track: 4 Ten or so years ago, my G.I. Joe action figure came apart in the bathtub. I didn't try to fix him. I just left there to rot. After seeing Toy Story 2, he's come back to haunt me. I didn't try to save my toy I... I betrayed him. I have failed. However, with Randy Newman's surprisingly fun score to Toy Story 2, I have a chance for redemption. I have a new toy to play with and I admit... I like this toy.
This was the very first soundtrack to enter my home. It was a Christmas gift, and I admit I stared at the CD with doubt. "A SOUNDTRACK?? NAW!!" However, the by the end of the first track, I was so surprised at how good the score was that I couldn't stop playing the album. The variety is so incredibly good, from hick, country songs to Buzz Lightyear's stunning theme to "The Cleaner."
Overall, this is a great choice for beginner novice soundtrack fans - it's funny without too much loony toony music. And remember, play with your toys - love them, cradle them! Never put them down or they will leave you forever! Quickly! Before it's to late!!! Pick up this score... it is not to be missed. see all reviews, or add a review
