This soundtrack/score is horrible for one reason. You have a mini-series that contains no less than 4 hours of score music, and you've put a total of 54min and pocket change on the score. It's like the olden days of Varese Sarabande reborn.
Its atrocious length aside, Anne Dudley has produced a masterful score. It rages all over the fairying forest and comes back with cues to appease action and romance lovers alike. This multi-dimensional score uses its wonderful themes magnificently. They are revisited many times, but never worn out.
Unfortunately, yet again, you only get a taste of the true beauty and effervescence of Dudley's work due to the constricting length of this release. I so would have loved to had the beautiful harps that made "Kissing Town" come alive during the miniseries, but alas, they are nowhere to be found here.
This is a worthwhile buy, but if you're left unsatisfied or feel like there's something missing, now you know why.
