 by greenst on 1/1/2002 Bernard Hermann's music is perfect for the subject of loneliness. Hear also his score for The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.
The jazz theme works for New York at night. Then, two harmonies are contrasted throughout the film, until they are brought together in a frighteningly beautiful dissonance for the final scene. Something similar was done in Vertigo. see all reviews, or add a review
