diachenko's review
of this soundtrack CD:
by diachenko on 5/30/2008 favorite track: 3 Wow, what a gorgeous, moving score for a film of difficult subject matter. Leaving aside the film itself (which I have not seen yet), the music is just amazing. Elfman has outdone himself again. From the opening track, which channels a bit of Philip Glass through Elfman's own voice, to the end, the score sparkles, haunts, and creates unease. And can we acknowledge once and for all that Elfman is the master of the montage? I'm guessing that Track 3 "Photos" is a montage scene, because the music creates that image, while having my favorite melody of the entire album, scored for winds and strings. I highly recommend this music. see all reviews, or add a review
