To put it bluntly, this soundtrack is... brilliant, absolutely brilliant! If the previous soundtrack to the first movie was considered more angry, violent and brutal, then this soundtrack is the complete opposite as it presents 18 of the world's most reknowned metal, hard rock, industrial and techno artists, as well as artists that no has ever heard of before.

Some of the original artists from the previous movie soundtrack return with a vengance, including Slipknot with the brilliant "Vermillion" and Rammstein with the ultimately harsh and dark "Mein Tiel" which translates in English to "My Tool," a song about a cannibalistic killer (and it's not Hannibal Lecter!).

Along with that, there are some awesome tracks from the likes of The Used (I believe Kelly Osbourne was dating the lead singer), '80s industrial legends The Cure, Italy's own Lacuna Coil, CKY (whose members consist of those wackos from the MTV series "Jackass" and those CKY2K DVDs), Alaska's very own 36 Crazyfists, Cradle of Filth, HIM, Rob Zombie, Devildriver and Deftones.

In my opinion, the track that truly stands out above the rest is "The End of Heartache" by Killswitch Engage, the awesomely powerful metal group that have really made huge waves across the world. Everything about the track literally just screams brutality and brilliance. The vocals, sung by Howard Jones, move me to tears every time I hear this track. Mere words cannot discribe it, you'll just have to listen to it for yourself.

Other killer tracks include A Perfect Circle's remixed version of "The Outsider" and the acoustic "End of the World" by Cold. In retrospect, this soundtrack is as dark, cold and distant as it gets, which are all good points! It's a must-have for any soundtrack collector or fan of heavy music. Another masterwork produced by Roadrunner Records!
