ScorpionKing's review of this soundtrack CD:

4 stars

When I was a kid, I could watch The Rescuers Down Under over and over again. Though I am 17 years old now, I still appreciate the music, and finally it is available! My favorite track is "Cody's Flight" which is the best music in the film - so uplifting, heroic and just beautiful! And it goes on for six minutes! This is Disney's music when it is as best. Other noteworthy cues are "Main Titles," which begins with some rainforest native sounds and then moves into the theme; "McLeach Threatens Cody," a primtive, brassy, creepy cue that really makes you hate the villain; and "Cody Finds The Eggs," a sad cue which I really enjoy; and "Bernard the Hero," the action highlight of the score. But I think this CD does not have the best music selection. In fact, it has about 20 minutes of playful music which I find too noisy and childish for my taste. This is a pity, because the CD is only 35 minutes long. There is a lot of great unreleased music: the action sequence when Cody tries to rescue Marahute, the wild boar ride and McLeach's march (heard every time his truck appears). This is too bad because this music will probably remain unreleased. So all in all, I give this score four stars.
