This music is such a surprise for me, coming from a composer whom little do I know... but still I am deeply impressed and surprised.
Performed by a small instrumental ensemble which contains everything from a touching piano to saxophone, drum kits, guitar (acoustic), lute and other various types of plucked instruments up to atmospheric synths and smooth strings, Reign Over Me has a little bit of Shearmur (K-PAX) and a little bit of Newman (American Beauty) with lots of Kent character.
Subtle with fragile and beautiful themes, touching and smooth, this heartwarming little score is a real gem of a particularly nostalgic and urban character, one of those works that can't be accurately described and you only understand its meaning once you get to experience in person the intimate process that is its listening experience. Impressed by Kent on this one and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
