Well, Goldsmith is a great "all time" composer, and he wrote a lot of great scores in 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Night Crossing is from 1981, which was a great and inspired year for the composer, with works like First Blood, Poltergeist and Secret of NIMH all written around then. Night Crossing is a beautiful and energetic work, with splendid themes describing the true story of the film. My favourite theme is "First Flight" - very, very spectacular.
