It's tough to pick one favorite track from this release. I picked "El Tango De Roxanne" because it's one of the most well-cut sequences in the film.

Overall, the music was impressive. I wish more had been original and less had been older songs reused. Indeed, I think it pulled the audience out of the film a bit.

However, the movie was quite enjoyable, and the combined musical and visual presentation was often overwhelming.

Let's hope the rumors are true and the DVD will have a second disc with all of the musical numbers separated with clear audio of the score and singing.

This soundtrack is absolutely one of the best I've ever heard in a musical. First of all, the movie was... well, I don't think I can put it in words. You just have to see it. It's not a realistic movie, of course. If you're looking for sometinng realistic then go and watch CNN, because this movie is everything but real, from gentlemen singing Nirvana songs in the year 1899 to the moon singing like Pavaroti. The excellent mixture of images and sound make a unique experience you've probably not lived in a long time... that is, if you ever did. The soundtrack is, of course, a very important part of the movie, and even though not all of the songs featured in it are included in the CD, you still can enjoy these great songs from the Moulin Rouge. I have to admit that Nicole Kidman was a great surprise, she has a beautiful voice. And she is not a singer after all, so, well done Nicole. Ewan was a surprise too, he's a got a beautiful voice and won't disappoint. The songs chosen on the CD are compelling and will take you from the highest ecstasies of joy and happiness, to the sad and melancolic moments of the characters. The arrangements for them are wonderful, specially on "El Tango de Roxanne" and "Hindi Sad Diamonds." "Your Song" and "Elephant Love Medley" are great songs too, but my favourite is "Come What May." That song is the most romantic song I've heard in years and I can just listen to it over and over without tiring of it. The other songs are very, very good. With artists like U2, Christina Aguilera and Beck among others, this CD is worth the price. Too bad songs from the movie like "The Show Must Go On" or "Like a Virgin" are not included. I think it would be a good surprise if a Volume 2 was delivered. All said and done, I finish saying that after I heard this CD for the first time, it immediately became part of my all-time-favourite soundtracks (and for those with girlfriends/boyfriends, just sing to your love "Come What May," and I swear they will melt. I speak from experience).

I've seen the movie and it was great, fabulous. I love the songs and the dance numbers. Nicole Kidman is a revelation as a singer. Didn't know she could sing that good, ditto Ewan McGregor. I love their love song medley, but specifically the new song "Come What May." I'm from Sydney, Australia, home of Nicole Kidman.

Hey! I would just like to say this is an awesome soundtrack, filled with love and pitty. My favorite songs are numbers 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 12! I mean, it is so hard to pick JUST one fave!

The joy of this film was its unabashed homage to those great movie musicals of yore. Ewan and Nicole dancing in the clouds above Paris was sheer genius. Alas, perhaps to appeal to the teeny bopper set, not all of the cuts are original to the soundtrack. John Leguizamo's rendition of "There Was a Boy" was masterful: what the heck has Sting got to do with it, except to sell discs to his fans? Where is "Like a Virgin," one of the most wonderfully campy moments in the film? My favorite cut was the "Elephant Love Medley," which, fortunately, isn't too dramatically different on the disc from the original in the film. Ewan and Nicole were pleasant surprises: both can belt it out when necessary. So skip the gratuitous pop cuts (like the silliness with Christina Aguilar) which never appeared in the film and enjoy those priceless bits which did. And let's hope, as another reviewer mentioned, that the DVD will have an isolated music track to enjoy the great ORIGINAL music.

I love "Lady Marmalade" - it's my favorite song ever, but I wish I could find the words? Oh well... go Christina, lil'Kim, Mya and Pink - you rock!!

I love "Lady Marmalade" because it is so cool. Pink rocks and the others are really cool, too. I can't believe Pink would wear what she did, but it was a cool video and I hope everyone likes it - they all rock!

I love this movie as you all do. Of course, Moulin Rouge is a master piece of a musical!!! The love theme song "Come What May" is the best song - I like to listen to again and again. I really want to try the different versions of "Come What May." The NZ version soundtrack includes the remix of Josh G. Abrahams as the track 16. But I would like to try more remix versions. Dear Baz Luhrmann, can you please release the 2nd soundtrack of Moulin Rouge as quickly as possible? And all the remix version of "Come What May"? I will support these 100!

I really liked this song from the movie, it was so beautiful and romantic, and the way they sang it together, it just made my heart melt. I would have to say yes, I will definitely purchase the movie as well as the soundtrack.

Oh my god! I loved that movie to the extreme. I wish it was longer. It was real bright and exhilarating. It's loud, the music is excellent and all the scenes were perfect. I loved the characters. They all had very good singing voices. I loved the hindu scene the best.

Moulin Rouge is a great movie. Just as Roger Ebert says: "It's like being trapped on an elevator with the circus." This is the same for the soundtrack. When you hear it, you love it and have a strong desire to see the movie again and again. It's a pitty that songs like "Like a Virgin" and "Something Something" are not involved. But I just wait for Volume 2 (just like I did with the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack). If you liked the movie, this is great stuff!!!

The movie was like one emotional tornado for me and I loved every minute of it! Same for the soundtrack - it's like reliving the movie all over again. For people who haven't seen the movie, I think it's still a strong theatrical CD which can give a lot of entertainment. Taste is a very personel thing but for me it's the best CD in years. Hello!! I'm listening to "Your Song" and I just melt when I hear this voice of Ewan. He just amazing - I just start crying when I hear his songs, and the thing is that I'm not sad! And Nicole! Nicole was.... well I can't find the words, it was a surprise, a good surprise, a big one. She has a beautiful voice. She's just perfect for the job. What else? I just know that I have to see this again for the second time!

I absolutely loved this CD. I actually bought the soundtrack before I saw the movie in theaters, and after I listened to it, I knew I would love the movie. My favorite song is "Come What May," because it is so well done and Ewan and Nicole both do such a wonderful job singing it.

I loved the movie and I wanted the soundtrack so bad. My mom finally let me skip school to go to the mall and out to lunch with her. We got it and now I know every word on the CD. I'm obsessed! I listen to it every day. Movies are just so much better when it is a musical. Ewan and Nicole are great singers. Very impressive.

I thought this was a great soundtrack and I loved the film. Who ever didn't like it just shows they aren't romantic, and nothing good will ever come of this because some girls just like the romantic type. So, all in all, I loved the album - it was great.

I thought this soundtrack rocked. Nicole Kidman can sing better than half of the artists out there. "El Tango de Roxanne" is my favorite. It brought a really cool emotion to the movie.

I thought this soundtrack was excellent. Being a professional dancer in the Australian Ballet Company, I found this soundtrack came in handy quite often for the fast and the slow songs. And also Ewan, I just love his work and most importantly his voice. It's just so great!! Anyway: I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind, that I put down in words... How wonderful life is now this soundtrack's in my world!!!

I don't know for sure how many times I've seen this movie...it was 23 at last count... This is the most emotional and romantic movie I have ever seen. It pulls you in, and you can't stop watching. I love all of the songs, although I think they need a second CD for the other songs like "The Show Must Go On." This is my all time favorite movie and soundtrack, and it will probably stay that way for an extremely long time! McGregor and Kidman were spectacular in this dazzling masterpiece. I think once I have kids who are old enough to see this, they will see it right away.

Wow Moulin Rouge! I love it so much. It is hard to choose a favourite track because all of them are so good. But I think my number one favourite track is "Come What May." It's such a beutifull song, it brightens my day, and I never ever tire of hearing it. My second fave one is "Elephant Love Medley." It was amazing to see that Ewan and Nicole could sing so beautifully... I wish I could sing like her. But I can't :-( And I loved Ewan, so handsome.

The movie was great and when I listened to the soundtrack I was so moved. It was amazing! I couldn't choose my favourite song out of all the songs because I loved them all. But I must say that "El Tango De Roxanne" blew me away, the harmony was excellent!

Moulin Rouge is the most hilarious, heartwrenching, flamboyant and delightfully seductive movie I have ever seen! It is a wonderful fantasy, the artistry is absolutely seamless! Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor are great vocalists; all the music is great! I love the entire soundrack; along with Volume 2 you have the perfect Moulin Rouge soundtrack experience. "The Tango" is my favorite from this CD; never heard anything like it! It's a whirlwind of emotions, just jump in and enjoy!

I must have a thing for soundtracks!! I have millions, but without a doubt this is one of the best! The songs are inspiring and will make you want to act out each scene. It will make you want to cry, laugh and wish you had a can-can skirt. It really is amazing!

OMG!! Nicole Kidman, totally sexy in this number - "Sparkling Diamonds" is the best... made me want to be a Diamond Dog!

The movie is phenomenal. The idea to bring pop culture/music into a film set at the turn of the century - pure genius. It totally works for this.

The movie is exhilaratingly delightful, fantastic, stupendous! I love Nicole so much, having been graced with such charismatic face... very beautiful... perfect! I also love Ewan. He sings well, especially when he did his own version of "Your Song."
