Hard Target's review
of this soundtrack CD:
by Hard Target on 7/2/2001 For a film that takes place in the 18th century, a bunch of rock songs on the soundtrack might be a turnoff, but A Knight's Tale is certainly one of the most original ideas out there at the moment. Aside from the heavy metal and pop backings, a layer of an original score by Carter Burwell distingushes itself when you didn't have your eardrums hurting from the all that speaker noise. Burwell is up to his usual tricks with his score here - a pop but traditional orchestrial score that has a lot of fun backing up the visuals the music is written for. The highlights of this entertaining album include rambunctious cues like "Nemesis," "To Run or Not To Run" and "The Showdown," which is a real treat. There's even an unexpected love theme in "Love Reflects." If you wanna hear a fun, bouncy action score, root for this one. It's a winner! see all reviews, or add a review
