craig's review
of this soundtrack CD:
by craig on 7/11/2005 I wish there was a little more space on this CD for Trevor Jones instead of the four incidental background tracks that open the CD. They're ok, only included for interest of scenery, which is stripclub, chop shop, stripclub, prison.... you get the picture: seedy, sordid set-ups. Onto the score....
Nice guitar work in the opening "Kiss of Death Main Titles." It really sets the mood for a hard crime drama such as this. "Illegal Convoy" is great uptempo track as the car carriers move their stolen merchandise through town. As it ends, you just hear everything go wrong. "Calvin's Revenge" is a nice smoldering track. The synths have a kind of tension with a hangtime you wait for to end... and then it calms. "Junior Suspects" is a suspenseful track, that same tension is used but with different consequences at the end. Great use of strings. "Corinna is Kidnapped" is a darker track that is one of my favorite on the CD. Very good, very dark. The last track, "Kiss of Death End Credits" is good. An extension of the "Main Titles" but with a few changeups, including a bit of a synth solo mixed with orchestra. I liked that. The score is pretty good. Again, I wish more of Trevor Jones was put on the CD. But, if that's all there is, I like very much what we have. see all reviews, or add a review
