dantoris's review
of this soundtrack CD:
by dantoris on 6/24/2000 favorite track: 1 For one of the most well-known horror films in history, writer/director John Carpenter created its equally famous soundtrack. Using the limitations of early synthesizers to his advantage, Carpenter created a great score, based on several themes: the main title, with its mix of piano, rattle, and pounding; the repetitive stalking cue; the delicate theme for Laurie Strode; and the subtle motif for Dr. Sam Loomis. The simplicity of these themes create a very good, effective score. Though much of the music is the same, the short running time of this version (the original 1988 CD release) makes the album a satisfying and entertaining soundtrack. see all reviews, or add a review
