craig's review
of this soundtrack CD:
by craig on 10/9/2005 This is one really eclectic score. John Lurie's opening with a really great ska-type track, "Big Trombone Escape," sets things off nicely. It has some quieter, beautiful, soulful instrumentals, such as "Love A" and then it moves in to some funkier tracks like "How Stupid Is There" and "Vincent's Walk" or even "Emily in the Bathroom." The arrangements are perfect, short, but perfect. Flavored with a bit of a reggae tempo, "Get Away" is a real surprise. The whole score turns out to be a great surprise. Everything ends with one of the best tunes from the whole movie, Red House Painters "All Mixed Up." With that song tying things up, it made this CD a joy to listen to. see all reviews, or add a review
