yip.rochalie's review of this soundtrack CD:

5 stars
by yip.rochalie on 1/1/2002

This is as good a follow-up to Star Wars as can be expected. This is a score that brims with beautiful themes, dominated by Darth Vader's sinister Imperial theme, Yoda's benign theme to symbolize his peace with the good side of the Force, and the sweeping romanticism of the Han and Leia's love theme. John Williams weaves all these themes and more into a beautifully integrated score that stands as one of his best works to date. To top it off, the stellar performance of the London Symphony Orchestra shows they are ideally suited to performe this music. This new edition of the soundtrack is the most definitive presentation of the score, including new liner notes that greatly help in following the storyline. And, it is wiser not to forget the care of the remastering, which only adds to its appeal. -- Yi-Peng
