peter's review
of this soundtrack CD:
by peter on 2/28/2001 favorite track: 1 This superb score by George Fenton rightly deserves more recognition than the film it was written for. The movie aside, listening to this soundtrack is an absolute pleasure. The music is presented in chronological order and, if we follow the cue titles along as we listen, we are given the opportunity to create a film, or story, of images in our own theatrical minds. Fenton's music is so filled with description, it is almost hard not to envision things as we listen. Beautiful, sweeping themes exemplify the love between Veronica and Marco; music accompanying the news of war and ultimate separation of the lovers is a truly disheartening combination of dark and sad tones. Whether or not you've seen this film, the music comes highly recommended. For admirers of George Fenton, this one is a must. see all reviews, or add a review
