Adrian Bono's review
of this soundtrack CD:
by Adrian Bono on 10/2/2001 favorite track: 2 The score for The Bone Collector is "truly" (if you saw the film you'll understand the pun) an excellent creation that sets-the-mood. This is a dark movie, very dark, and the score had to be just like that. Craig Armstrong (who, to be honest, I had never heard of) was called to do the job. The result is one of the best scores for a "who's-the-killer" type of film (This doesn't include teen slasher movies, which in that case would be Marco Beltrami). The score for this movie is so much better than Silence of the Lambs, and is equal to Copycat. The themes are really suspenseful. "Prologue" is my favourite track. As soon as you listen to it, even if you didn't see the movie, you can feel that something big is coming... that the story you are about to witness is INDEED scary, like it or not. There's also "Pier Pressure" which, if you remember the scene from the movie (when A. Jolie is reading the book she found), will make your hair stand on end. "Final Confrontation" and "Underground" are also very good, marking the climax of the story when the mystery is about to be revealed. "The City Awakes" is everything the other tracks aren't. This one features choral arrangements that work beautifully within the end of the movie.
In conclusion, this CD is a must have for all of you thriller fans. Congratulations to Craig Armstrong (who composed the score to Moulin Rouge, by the way). Keep it like that. see all reviews, or add a review
